The 2020 Treehouse 5k and 10k and Family Bunny Run are at 10am on Sunday 29th March.
Treehouse 10k is set in an around the village of Cholsey, Oxfordshire. The course includes a mixture of quiet roads, farm tracks and footpaths. Starting at Cholsey Pavilion, following a tour around the village it climbs towards the Berkshire Downs, descending back to the village via an off-road route. The full routes is shown as a red line on the map below. We use chip-timing, and all finishers receive an event t-shirt and a hand-made wooden medal. Trophies will be awarded to the winners of each category. The route is shown by the red line on the map below.
The Treehouse 5k route is shown by the blue line on the map below. We use chip-timing by Rogue Racer, and all finishers receive an event t-shirt and a hand-made wooden medal. Trophies will be awarded to the winners of each category.
The family bunny run course is around the recreation ground – two laps makes one 1km. Family runners can run as many laps as they like, and will receive a medal showing the distance that they achieved. Family runners can buy event t-shirts in child and adult sizes on the day.
By train: Cholsey Pavilion is just a 2-3 minute walk from Cholsey station, with regular train connections from Reading, Didcot Parkway and Oxford. From the station, turn left and walk 250m down Station Road – the Pavilion will be on your left.
By car: Car Parking will be in White Head Meadows, off Church Rd, Cholsey. This is next to Cholsey Primary School, OX10 9PP, shown by the bouncing icon on the map below. OX10 9PP works for Sat-Nav users. Please follow the marshal’s instructions. All cars must be parked by 9.40am. The gates will be closed to this car park at 9.40am. There is strictly no parking at the Pavilion.

Registration will be in the gazebos near the Pavilion – please register promptly. Registration will be open from 8:30am and everybody must be registered by 9:45am. On the day registrations need to be made by 9:15am.
There will be chip timing on the day – your chips will be given to you at registration. Rogue Racer, who provide the chip timing service, use reusable chips which attach to your ankle. It is the runner’s responsibility to return chips to event organisers immediately after the run. Lost chips will be charged at £25.
Warm-up and start
There will be a pre-race warm-up, kindly provided by Laura Elliston of LPPT Fit Hub, for all those that would like to join in. This will take place near the start line at 9:45am, followed by a race briefing at the Start Line at 9:55am. The 5k and 10k run starts at 10:00am. The Family Bunny run takes place as soon as the 5k and 10K runners have cleared the field. Please line up behind the 5k and 10K runners.
After the race
After the race please remember to return your chip timer and collect your medal and t-shirt. Physio and massage will be available after the race. There will be a presentation of trophies to category winners at around 11:15. We will post a link to the results on the website soon after the run.
Toilets: There will be portable toilets located close to the start/finish on the Rec – please use these rather than the toilets in the Pavilion. There is a disabled toilet within the Pavilion – if you need this, please enter through the front door and ask one of the helpers to direct you there.
Refreshments and activities will be available from 9.00 until 12.00. These will include bacon butties, egg butties, teas, coffees, cakes etc. Any money raised from the refreshments will also support The Treehouse School.
There will be lots to do for families whether entering the family run or supporting other runners. For younger children, the race start is right besides a lovely playground, and there will be a bouncy castle too. Cholsey pre-school will also be running activities.
T-‐shirts will be given out at the end of the race to all runners who have entered the 5k or 10K race. They are available on a first come first served basis in sizes, age 7/8, age 9/10, Small, Medium, Large, XL and XXL. You can choose your t-shirt size. Additional t-shirts will be be on sale on the day.
If you have entered the Bunny Run you will not receive a free t-shirt but you can purchase one on the day or online now.
Supporters and spectators
Please bring along your family and friends to support you – there will be activities and entertainment for all the family. Why not dress up as a bunny, or wear some bunny ears?

Runners are advised to allow plenty of time to warm up.
Water will be available at the halfway point of the 10k, roughly 4k into the 5k route, and also at the finish. This year we are using reusable plastic cups rather than single-use bottles to reduce our environmental impact. If you like to run with a bottle, please bring one with you, you can fill up at the start/finish or at the water station.
Runners are required to write details of any medical conditions on the reverse of their race number. You will have told us about any pre-existing medical conditions when you registered and asked to confirm that to their knowledge they are medically fit to take part, but if you have any new conditions please let us know.
All major road crossings will be stewarded by stewards equipped with Hi Viz clothing. All road remain open to vehicles, so runners should take care when running on or crossing roads.
Medical facilities will be on site, provided by Alpha Care shall be onsite and available to support anyone during the event.
Runners advised to:
* Run responsibly
* Leave adequate space between themselves and other runners
* Overtake only when safe to do so
* Please ensure that you are wearing appropriate footwear.
* Runners should walk if coming across a hazard and inform other runners of the hazard.
* During wet weather and as a result in the build up of mud, ground conditions may deteriorate and become slippery. The event stewards and safety officer shall monitor the ground conditions and make a dynamic assessment of the need for further controls/cancellation of the event as appropriate.
* All persons are advised to wear clothing appropriate to weather conditions.
* Any persons coming into contact with any wild or domestic animals should walk calmly past the animal and make no attempt to interact with the animal in any way. Remember animals, especially wild animals can become startled and behave in an unpredictable manner.
