The Inaugural Treehouse 10K run took place in Cholsey, Oxfordshire, on a course that took participants over a mixture of off-road and on-road. Runners afterwards complimented the route, saying that it was interesting, scenic and contained the right level of challenge.

The weather forecast had been dreadful, but the rain stayed away and the event experienced perfect, cool conditions. There were 142 entries, with an additional 70 children taking part in the Bunny Run. Handmade wooden medals, and handmade wooden trophies were given to the winner in each category.

We got some great feedback – this email sums up the response to the first of hopefully many Treehouse 10k runs:

“I just had to send a quick email to say well done on a very well organised event on Sunday.  I have done many organised runs over the years (small and large) and was impressed with all aspects of the organisation.

Parking easy, the registration desk was ready (I was early) and organised, the chips and speed of results were good, the announcer (if that is what you call him) was confident and you knew exactly what was going on (if I was a little deaf by the end), the bacon butties and tea and cake were a nice touch (my husband and 4 year old informed me the cake was lovely!) The T-Shirts are fab (mine had it’s first wear out on a training run this morning)!

I was in fact surprised when I found out that this was the first run for The Treehouse School. Overall a great friendly event which I discovered simply by seeing your banner on the roundabout on route to Tesco in Didcot.  I hope you managed to raise a good sum of money, and it seems, a great awareness of the school and your work (I hadn’t heard of you before).

Well done!”

Finally, many thanks to our 2014 sponsors…
